-- Blitz Inc
in Bellevue, WA held their first fundraiser for Operation Smile at Bellevue College over this past weekend. Several of Blitz Inc employees spent the latter half of Saturday the 5th, 2013 handing out Operation Smile bracelets in exchange for goodwill donations at the women's and men's basketball game at the Bellevue College campus gymnasium. Although attendance for this was lower than expected, the employees of Blitz Inc were able to raise over $100 in donations, and will use this as a baseline of what to expect for future fundraisers.
Employees of Blitz Inc review several philanthropic opportunities throughout the year and have dedicated all of 2013 to benefiting Operation Smile. The organization is a global charity providing free surgeries, medical assistance, medical training of local doctors, and aftercare for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate. In some cases, a child's life is dependent upon medical treatment. With over 60 countries served, volunteer medical professionals and support staff provide these surgeries free of charge. While many children are helped, many more remain at risk from this life-threatening affliction. Blitz Inc, founded in 2011, originally started with 2 employees and has grown to over 10 since that time. A large portion of the company's success is attributed finding like-minded individuals interested in contributing to something bigger than themselves. A manager at Blitz Inc reviews the company's successful growth:
"We attribute much of our success to hiring the right individuals...those who want to be a part of something much bigger than themselves. Not only do these individuals exemplify management potential and leadership characteristics, they are all very passionate about helping others. We're very excited to be working with Operation Smile and have dedicated all of our fundraising efforts in 2013 to that organization."
Blitz Inc plans to have several more events every month and will attend all home basketball games of Bellevue College in the month of January. An employee at Blitz Inc reviews the expectations of the first month of fundraising:
“Partnering up with Bellevue College for January will be really exciting. At half-time we will give some stats to the audience and encourage them to donate. We will continue to have someone sitting up front handing out bracelets and accepting donations to reach our eventual goal for the year of $5,000.00.”
