Artcraft Health Education in the Community

Local medical marketing agency finds time to give back at rehab facility

Jan. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- This holiday season Artcraft Health Education (AHE) continued its tradition of lending its time and talent to the community when the entire staff spent a morning at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. The Center provides physical rehabilitation services to surgical patients and assistance for people who need long-term care, including people with Alzheimer Disease and other cognitive disorders.

AHE employees divided into teams to create an array of gifts for the rehabilitation facility. For example, they drew and painted colorful signs to announce different activities. The sign titles included: “Shall We Dance,” “Spa Time,” “Game Show Activity,” and “Current Events,” to name a few. The artistic endeavor inspired some pretty elaborate paintings by AHE designers and illustrators, not to mention writers and sales and account staff. Some of the patients even joined in the fun, helping to paint or creating their own designs.

The signs will be attached to a “Now Playing” billboard styled like a movie marquis, complete with flashing lights around its border. It was also designed and built by one of the creative teams. Another talented group put their construction skills together to build wooden garden carts to accommodate those residents who enjoy working with plants.

It was hard to say who enjoyed the experience more—the residents who painted and chatted with their visitors or the AHE employees who let loose their creative drive making engaging and useful tools for the facility. “It’s an important part of Artcraft Health Education’s core values to make sure we not only do our work with integrity, but to assure that we actively contribute to the community where we reside here in Flemington,” said Marc Sirockman, AHE Executive Vice President. “We believe in doing the right thing. Our employees really lived up to that notion with the creative energy and good cheer they brought to the residents at the Center.”

The Hunterdon Care Center notes on its website that “Care is our middle name, and it means much more than medical and therapeutic care. It means ‘care’ as in ‘I care about you.’ It means getting involved: understanding each individual's specific needs and tastes, and going the extra mile to accommodate them.” AHE employees share that credo through the company’s CARE™ Principles that guide their work in patient education, and with the spirit in which they give back to the community.
