World Institute of Surgical Excellence Provides Solution for Women Desiring In Vitro Fertilization
Dr. Mario Vega, of the World Institute of Surgical Excellence, has a success rate more than twice the average and at a cost less than half of that in the US. He operates an IVF clinic located in Johns Hopkins Intl Hospital, Punta Pacifica, Panama.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease & Control, the success rate for women undergoing IVF in the U.S. is only 41% for women under the age of 35 and this number drops to only 25%, when factoring in women age 44 and younger. To further compound the challenges of being able to conceive, when women make the hopeful decision to use IVF, they are met with a stifling out-of-pocket cost ranging anywhere from $18,000 to $30,000. This number can exceed $60,000 if using a donor egg or even $75,000 if a donor and a surrogate are needed to conceive a child. Despite the low success rates and spiraling out-of-pocket cost to use IVF in the United States, each year more and more women are weighing their options to fulfill their uncompromising desire to conceive a child.
Many couples have found that the most viable solution to all of their aforementioned challenges await just a few hours away by plane. A growing number of women are looking to Panama City, Panama with World Institute of Surgical Excellence IVF specialist, Dr. Mario Vega, to provide an answer to their needs. Dr. Vega, who is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and completed his Maternal and Fetal Medicine Fellowship at New York’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine, operates an IVF clinic located within Johns Hopkins International Hospital, Punta Pacifica.
Dr. Vega has a success rate of 68% for women under the age of 35 and 52% for women age 44 and younger, more than twice that of the average success rate for women age 44 and younger in the United States. In addition, the cost of IVF, whether a donor is used or not, is less than half the cost of the exact same procedure with the exact same medications that are used in the U.S. So how is it possible to have two times the success at less than half the cost? Dr. Vega says “the answer lies within quality eggs vs. quantity and a tranquil, stress-free environment. Often times in the U.S., doctors overstimulate the ovaries with the hopes of retrieving more eggs, but they do this at the cost of harvesting lesser quality eggs that are typically not viable.”
