Jan. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- At Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle (4844 Cordell Avenue Bethesda, Md.), on Friday and Saturday nights diners will be treated to a comic, interactive murder mystery show.  Shows change every six weeks.  Do or Die Mysteries’ current offering, The Mystery Krewe, is running through February 16, 2013.  The audience becomes part of the Mystery Krewe’s post-parade Mardi Gras Ball.  This year’s parade king, Huey Short is a US Senatorial hopeful.  Unfortunately his penchant for the ladies stirs up hilarious – and deadly – complications.

“Sometimes I hate categorizing Do or Die mysteries as live theatre, because when you say live theatre to most people in the 21st century, their eyes glaze over.  The average person thinks of theatre as boring, passive and non-interactive…something that necessitates disconnecting from social media.  That’s not what we’re about.  Keep your cell phones on.  Text away.  Talk to the actors.  This is different, funny, engaging and highly interactive.  It truly is theatre for the 21st century.“ says Do or Die Mysteries founder, CJ Crowe.

Maryland Theatre Guide calls Do or Die Mysteries at Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle “…outrageous, clever and drop dead funny.”

Do or Die Mysteries relocated from their former venue, Blair Mansion Restaurant, when it temporarily closed in early August.  “Avid Do or Die fans are finding their way to the new venue and we’ve had nothing but positive feedback about the food and atmosphere at the new location,” said CJ Crowe.

Online Ticketing service is available at http://www.DoOrDieMystery.com or by calling (443) 422-3810.  Limited seating is available; advance booking is recommended.

Tickets ($47.50) include a buffet dinner, the interactive murder mystery show, and taxes.  Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.; the interactive murder mystery show, at 7:30 p.m. (Gratuities and beverages are not included; beverage service continues throughout the show.)  Early arrivals are welcome in the main lounge.

Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle owner Steve Nugent is enthusiastic about the addition of murder mystery shows. “This is really different from anything we’ve done at Flanagan’s.  And people love it.  They also like being able to listen to live bands in the main bar when the show is over.  How many places can say that they have great food, live theatre and live music – and you can have it all in one night?”

“The shows appeal to all age ranges, but the subject matter is not always appropriate for younger audiences.  It is, after all, about murder.  Some of the comedy contains sexual innuendo, although it is generally couched in terms that go over the heads of the little ones,” explained Crowe.

Private murder mystery dinner shows are available, with a wide variety of shows to choose from.
