January 4, 2013 (Bangalore): India’s largest rural BPO, RuralShores today announced that it is the only Indian recipient of the 2012 Asian Innovation Award conferred by Credit Suisse and The Wall Street Journal Asia. RuralShores was one of the top 3 recipients chosen among 242 innovations across Asia Pacific, for the award. The award was presented by Sir John Major (Ex-PM, United Kingdom), in Hong Kong this year. The three winners reflect some of the broader issues that the Asia-Pacific region's entrepreneurs are trying to tackle, such as healthcare related challenges and ways to improve the living conditions of the underprivileged in emerging economies.

Besides the Asian Innovation Award, RuralShores received two other International Awards in 2012. This includes the Best BPO Organization of the Year award by Asia's Best Employer Brand at Singapore in July, this year. The award was endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses with CMO Asia as a strategic partner. Hosted by the Global employer branding leader, Universum, the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress and Stars of the Industry Group. Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards 2012 acknowledged 100 organizations across Asia that demonstrated excellence in building its brand and identity as an employer of choice, visible through its Human Resource practices, polices and strategies.

RuralShores was also honoured with the Edison Award, USA in April 2012 and was one of the only two Indian companies to win this coveted award. Mr. Tom Stat, Chairman of the Edison  Awards’ Steering Committee said “It is exciting to see companies like RuralShores continuing Thomas Edison’s  legacy of challenging conventional thinking.”

On winning the award, RuralShores’ Co-Founder and CEO Murali Vullaganti said “It is a great honour to be a recipient for such prestigious awards. This validates our mission of social intervention through business innovation in providing a sustainable work opportunity for the people of rural India.”
