Jan. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- As the New Year is upon us thousands of individuals will be looking for new jobs and opportunities. Those who are unemployed or those who are just looking for a new opportunity as they have spent money during the Christmas period.

Angel Links have decided for those that are looking for a new opportunity have decided to give them tips in order to help them give a heads up to get a move on with their career.

1.       If you’re not sure what you want to do or are still looking for the ‘perfect job’ it is advised you take time out to figure it out or write down the skills you possess. It would also help if you write down the pros and cons of what your ideal role would be.

2.       Use a range of sources to look for a job or an opportunity. Go to job fairs and use recruiting agencies to help you get what you are looking for.

3.       Not everything will be advertised on the internet so use all your sources including friends and family. If you still cannot find anything you are looking for why not look for some voluntary work to boost your CV to help employers assess your skills.

4.       When applying for jobs make sure your CV and cover letter matches the opportunity you applied for. In other words tailor you CV/Cover Letter to the job/employer as there are going to be thousands of candidates for one role.

5.       When you make an application to an employer always take your time and do not rush. You need to make sure your application and cover letter matches as you would not want to miss out on the opportunity.

6.       Follow up on your application as companies will receive thousands of application for their roles on a daily basis.

7.       Prepare and practice thoroughly for all your interviews that you may be offered also make sure you have answers to all common questions employers may ask so you are not shocked or thrown of course.

8.       Finding a Job is harder in today’s world as  competition is very stiff so do not get disheartened if you do not get one of the first jobs you apply for. Do not get putt off applying for other opportunities or jobs.
