Lisa Good's January Montessori Cultural Curriculum for 3-6 year olds Released as PDF
Teachers, parents and those interested in Montessori classroom methods can now use this step-by-step cultural curriculum in the classroom and for homeschoolers. Lisa Good has been a Montessori teacher for over 26 years, and provides her curriculum.
Lisa Good, a Montessori teacher for over 26 years, has been providing free access to her Montessori based Cultural Curriculum via her website and blog, JustMontessori.com. Now she is providing her monthly curriculum lessons in PDF format, and soon in ePub format for use on computers, laptops, iPads, tablets, and smart phones.
Starting as of January 1st, 2013 anyone can purchase and receive 4 weeks of her January curriculum in a PDF file for only US$10. Successive months will be frequently made available as completed until entire curriculum is in a digital file format. Both PDF and ePUB formats will be provided at completion.
The curriculum outlines a day-to-day, step-by-step approach to the Montessori lessons presented in the classroom and includes lap cards so the teacher/parent knows exactly how to introduce Montessori lessons in the group circle.
The PDF contains a bonus of individual lap cards that are formatted for a 4x6 file card that one can hold in their lap during circle time. These are great for archiving and can be used year after year. Or, if you are tech-savvy, you can use the PDF on your tablet, iPad, or smart phone.
Lisa has included many beautiful pictures of the works included in the lessons, and provides tips on how to create your own materials, which saves teacher/parents money. Her focus on the child is demonstrated by her attention to detail.
One school owner and teacher in California commented that she uses Lisa's online curriculum for all her teachers, as it reminds them of "...going through our training all over again." She added, "Having a downloadable curriculum will be wonderful."
Soon, the free curriculum currently on the website will be limited to members only so that updates, new pictures, video, and digital file updates are available anytime they are needed. This is part of an ongoing strategy to provide everyone who wants to provide a Montessori education to their children the ability to know how. It also allows parents to know what can be expected for their child in the Montessori classroom.
The PDF is available from the website by clicking on the link entitled "PDF Curriculum" at the top right of the web pages found at http://JustMontessori.com. Or you can go directly to that page by browsing to http://www.justmontessori.com/
Lisa will release each month's curriculum PDF before that month begins so that teachers/parents can prepare ahead of time. However, having the PDF file allows one instant access to using the curriculum, and so can buy it at anytime during the month needed. Free updates of files will be made available to those who purchase as information is added, so your curriculum will expand and grow.
Teachers and parents from around the world have been offering praise for the website, and now have the opportunity to carry the curriculum with them. This marks a huge leap forward in the education and review of the Montessori method of classroom teaching.
