Reewa Rathod, daughter of Roop Kumar and Sunali Rathod, versatile Indian Playback singers; is all set to mark her debut in the music industry with a concert that will be held at the Bandra Bandstand Amphitheatre on January 05, 2013, at 7 p.m.
Reewa, who is carrying on the music legacy of her parents, has been introduced to music at an early age; and has even performed at the Tejpal Hall as a four-year-old. Though her parents are renowned and established as Ghazal singers as well as Bollywood playback singers, Reewa’s personal style is soul music and an inclination towards Carnatic music. This is the style she will portray in the maiden concert that marks her debut.
Eminent industry personalities who have known Reewa and seen her grow; have been very encouraging while expressing their support.
“She is a young lady of immense talent. She is not only a vocalist but a song writer and composer as well. I am really looking forward to seeing her performance on January 05, 2013. This promises to be a fine evening of music”, says tabla player par excellence, Zakir Hussain.
Ranjit Barot; composer, music director, music arranger, and singer says, “Reewa is a bright star on the horizon. With parents like Roop Kumar and Sunali Rathod, that should come as no surprise. But that is not the only reason Reewa shines. Her inherent talent, her love for music and her desire to perform, coupled with the hard work she has put in, make her who she is. I wish her all the luck and success in the years to come. All blessings upon her.”
The concert, hosted by Roop Kumar and Sunali Rathod, will see a number of music industry personalities in attendance; to celebrate Reewa Rathod’s debut.
