By: You Do Yoga LLC Cincinnati Ohio Yoga School Minor schedule changes in Anderson, but worth pointing out - Mary's Sunday night class moves from 6 to 6:30pm starting on the 6th. A few schedules were printed that omitted this change, but corrections have been made and we want to make special mention of the new time. Free open meditation continues mondays 8:40pm following Shane's Yin Yoga and Philosophy class, and we are also pleased with the addition of a Thursday night Yin Yoga class hosted by Seth at 7:30pm. And last but not least, the lovely miss Amanda is returning to Saturday morning Vinyasa practice at 9:30am. Start your weekend right and see why we love to hate her pleasantly painful class! At our Downtown studio we are please to announce the return of "The 'Berg"! Alex will be hosting Tuesday 6pm Taoist Yoga class starting January 8th, and will be available for private appointments of Thai Yoga bodywork. Information about bodywork and the most up to date schedules are posted online at www.YouDoYoga.com All evening classes at both studios will be cancelled Dec. 31st, and regular classes are off for New Years Day. But wait! Seth will be hosting a special practice in Anderson on January 1st at 6pm, exploring the Vin-to-Yin experience. The class will begin with dynamic movement and strengthening, and then settle into stillness to finish quietly on the Yin-side. From the remote tropical paradise where You Do Yoga's secret headquarters is located, we have heard reports that there has been some rather wintery weather back in Cincinnati. Our inclement weather policy is to cancel classes if the City of Cincinnati declares level 2 or higher snow emergency. Of course, we may decide to cancel if conditions are unsafe or if the instructor is not able to get to the studio, regardless of the city's stance. Cancellations will be posted to our website (www.YouDoYoga.com) Several special events are already lined up for 2013! We are excited to present a series of Asana workshops at our Downtown Studio led by Sandi Carpenter. On four separate Sundays January thru April Sandi will break down some important aspects of the more dynamic styles of yoga. While we at You Do Yoga emphasize function over form, a little knowledge of the form in yang poses can be beneficial. It can help us to do the pose safely and achieve the functional effect we are seeking. This series is for everyone, from beginner to the experienced practitioner, and workshops can be taken singly or discounted for the entire series. Details and pre-registration now online at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ Matt and Anita are hosting another Partner Yoga event on Saturday February 9th, 3:30-5:30pm. We will laugh and play with partnered poses and flows & end practice trading some assisted stretching and adjustments. Complimentary wine and cheese will follow while you mingle with others in your yoga community. All levels of experience welcome, and pre-registration is highly recommended. Details can be found at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ Our next round of Taoist Yoga Teacher Training is coming up fast! We filled to capacity a few weeks ago, but now one of our participants has had to withdraw due to circumstances beyond control. This is good news for one lucky person who can snap up this last available opening - could it be you? The Yoga Alliance approved 200 hour certification begins January 4th, 2013. Enrollment is by acceptance only, so if you are interested please contact the Director of Teacher Training ASAP. For more information go to http://www.youdoyoga.com/ While you may be aware that our Taoist Yoga Teacher Training is different from most others, we are equally aware that many people are not able to commit to our entire 200 hour program. That is why we are continuing to offer pieces of our teacher training curriculum in a weekend workshop format. You Do Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with the Yoga Alliance, and can grant CEUs for attending these events. The latest offering is a series of philosophy workshops covering some of the seminal texts of yoga. Teachings of the East is a 6 part series taking place January thru June of 2013. You can attend single sessions, or register in advance for the entire series at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ And yes, the rumors are true: You Do Yoga will be offering a 300 hour advanced teacher training program beginning the later half of 2013. This program is designed for those who have already completed any other 200 hour RYT program, and will lead to a 500 hour RYT certification. Details will be posted on our website within the next few weeks, but anyone interested is encouraged to contact the director of teacher training now to discuss the opportunity. It is our mission to make yoga accessible and affordable to everyone, but due to rent increases at both our studios this coming year we must increase our rates. New rates will be posted on our website and will take effect January 1st 2013. However, our current rates will be good through the end of this year, so if you are considering purchasing a pass we suggest that you hop on our website right now and take advantage of our secure online payments at 2012 prices. http://www.youdoyoga.com/ In light of this, it has always been our policy that no sincere student will ever be turned away for lack of funds. If anyone's financial situation is the only thing preventing them from coming to our classes we can find a mutually beneficial arrangement that does not necessarily involve monetary exchange. In short, we love to barter! If you are interested in a work trade, we will be interviewing for receptionists who want to work a shift at the front desk in exchange for classes. Contact us if you are interested. Well, that about covers it for this edition! Unless you reply to this address with the subject "remove" we will drop you a line again in February and remember - you can LIKE us on Facebook (You Do Yoga Cincinnati) and to follow us on Twitter @YouDoYoga. And be sure to visit our website regularly at www.YouDoYoga.com for updates and schedule changes. Namaste, thanks again, and have a Happy New Year! All of us at You Do Yoga End
