A name he left in his home town of New Orleans after he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theater at Emory University. During his that time, while still performing Stand-Up , Aronovitch began exploring sketch comedy and improvisation comedy joining Rathskellar, a touring comedy troupe. After moving to New York, he was part of Second City's first New York revue We Built This City On Rent Control at PSNBC (NBC's performing space). Rich joined the improvisational and sketch troupe Dirty Knees later that year. And in 2001 he founded and performed in the sketch and improvisation troupe Jambalaya. During this time Aronovitch performed Stand-Up comedy nationally and internationally at such prestigious venues as Madison Square Garden, in New York City; The Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island; The Berkley Center in Boston, Massachusetts; Rich Aronovitch has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC; Three Men And A Chick Flick on The WE Network; Last Comic Standing on NBC; The Upright Citizens Brigade on Comedy Central; Killer Sets on Time Warner on Demand; Series Pilot Love Sport on MTV, and series Pilot Last Laugh At Pips on HBO featuring Woody Allen. Rich moved to Los Angeles in 2008 after obtaining a Master of Fine Arts from the New York Film Academy. His thesis film, Waiting To Stand-Up in which Rich wrote, co-directed, and played ten different roles; won a Silver Ace Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival. Aronovitch is currently shooting a one hour special produced by Sandy Chanley of Production Partners (who has shot over sixty four hour specials, including winning two Emmy's for two of Chris Rock's specials) End
