Passion Quotient Peaks at Sangam University – ITM Bhilwara Alumni Meet

Each student begins his stay in an educational institution with his own dream to conquer and the degree of transformational experience undergone during the educational process is what makes the student form a lifelong bond with their Alma mater.

Dec. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Sangam University takes pride in the fact that it has evolved and emerged from the foundations laid by Institute of Technology & Management – ITM, Bhilwara an Engineering and ManagementInstitution, affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota and Approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Recognized by Government of Rajasthan, Technical Education Department, Jaipur.

ITM was established in the year 2003 under the aegis of Badri Lal Soni Charitable Trust. ITM which is now one of the best private engineering and management institutes in terms of infrastructure, facilities and academic excellence is promoted by Textile Major Sangam Group which is one among the top ranking corporates in India today as a Mission with Passion under the Corporate Social Responsibility activities.

Educational Empowerment alone can transform Women into powerful agents of Social Change and the girls enrollment statistics of a steady 30% at ITM Bhilwara for the past 10 years endorses the same.  This is to be viewed against the fact that the Engineering Workforce Commission in USA had found in 2002 that only 18.5 percent of all undergraduates at more than 500 different institutions were women.  It can be said with pride that in terms of girls enrollment, ITM is indeed way ahead of other such institutions both in India and outside India and it is for sure that higher education at ITM does not face any gender imbalance.

As part of the 2003 – 2013 Celebrating Decade 1.0, a grand alumni meet was organized on 23 December 2012 at Sangam University – ITM Bhilwara Campus. The organizing committee for the Alumni Meet with Mr Vikalp Agarwal as Coordinator did meticulous planning to ensure that it was indeed an unforgettable one.

Following the traditional Tilak welcome, lamp lighting and Sarswati Vandana, Mr SN Modani Managing Director Sangam Group of Industries highlighted the importance of alumni for the institution. Pointing out that 23 Dec 2012 also coincided with Gita Jayanti, Mr Modani urged the alumni to do their Karma Yoga for their Alma mater.

Prof BR Natarajan President – Vice Chancellor Sangam University in his address to the gathering pointed out that the most cherished moment in his life so far was when he received the special award at the first ever BITSAA Global Meet at Delhi in 2009 in recognition of his contribution in networking and keeping alumni updated and connected to their Alma mater Birla Institute of Technology and Science - BITS Pilani. He also reiterated his famous quote that for any educational institution, while the Latitude and Longitude remains constant, alumni of that institution by their achievements can definitely change the altitude of their Alma mater.

He urged the Sangam – ITM alumni to earn their value through values which is the motto of Sangam Group and gave a clarion call to make their Alma mater among top 20 institutions in terms of PQ - Passion Quotient as there are only a handful of institutions in India and abroad that evoke the same level of passion among alumni.

Principal Prof NK Mathur in his address said that he firmly believed that the institute had a unique relationship with alumni and congratulated them for their career advancements. Miss Antima Soni Sangam University Board Member also addressed the gathering. Sangam University Registrar Prof Nesamoorthy who is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and Mr SK Jain Corporate Resource Centre Head also participated in the proceedings. Current students entertained the alumni with song and dance in which alumni participated with great enthusiasm and danced their way to glory.

In the lucky draw, Mr Atul Baldi’s name from 2003 batch struck the special prize. Following the sumptuous lunch, the Executive Committee for the alumni association was constituted with Prof BR Natarajan as Advisor, Mr Vinesh Agarwal as Professor In-charge, Mr Atul Baldi (2003 Batch) as President, Mr Piyush Jain (2004 Batch) as Vice President, Mr Vikalp Agarwal (2003 Batch) as Secretary, Ms Parul Vardia (2007 Batch) as Joint Secretary and Mr Ashish Agarwal (2003 Batch) as Treasurer.
