By: Knight Nissan The manufacturer credits environmentally friendly technology and new products with helping them get in line with their eco targets for reducing CO2 emissions caused by the running of vehicles. They estimate that average fuel economy has risen 19% in the past seven years in major markets, and they intend to increase this further with their launch of fifteen hybrid vehicles and new electric vehicles as well. Over the next ten years, the Japanese auto manufacturer aspires to reduce their total corporate CO2 emissions, and intend to be a leader in zero-emission technology to greatly reduce the utilization of scant natural resources. They aim to lead the industry in fuel efficiency, and, because of their proclaimed commitment to zero-emission leadership, it can be assumed that pure electric vehicles will be developed as well.
