Affordable Chiropractic Care without Health Insurance

Dec. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Smithtown, NY –  Dr. Nicholas Zuccala, a Smithtown Chiropractor and the owner of Advanced Alternative HealthCare and Wellness Center, has announced the launch of the practice’s new discount medical plan, in conjunction with ChiroHealthUSA.   Under this plan, patients who are uninsured or underinsured (limited benefits for chiropractic care) will be entitled to network discounts in Dr. Zuccala’s office that are similar to the discounts enjoyed by insured patients.

To maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, managed care and preferred provider agreements, as well as with billing and coding guidelines, chiropractors and other health professionals are not legally permitted to discount their fees for patients who don’t have insurance coverage.  In order to provide affordable care for uninsured patients, Dr. Zuccala became the first Suffolk County, NY Chiropractor to partner with ChiroHealthUSA, a Discount Medical Plan Organization.

“Although many health insurance plans provide ample coverage for chiropractic care, I wanted to find a way to make chiropractic care affordable for all my patients,” said Dr. Nicholas Zuccala. “By becoming a provider with ChiroHealthUSA, I am now able to legally extend cash discounts to my uninsured and underinsured patients."

With an estimated 58 million Americans without either health insurance or a health savings plan, quality chiropractic care may present a financial burden for some Smithtown families.  Under the terms of Dr. Zuccala's ChiroHealthUSA plan, patients are entitled to a 30% discount from Dr. Zuccala’s “usual customary and reasonable” (UCR) charges.  There are additional discounts for the second and subsequent family members, making the plan even more affordable.  Further, there is no waiting period to join, and no limits on choice of therapy or number of visits per year.
