Palm Beach-Based EXTRAORDINARY CHARITIES Salutes Local Nonprofits at Launch of the First Directory for Charitable Giving

Dec. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Palm Beach-Based EXTRAORDINARY CHARITIES Salutes Local Nonprofits at Launch of the First Directory for Charitable Giving

Extraordinary Charities, Inc., a new nonprofit organization based in Palm Beach, welcomed more than 130 representatives from dozens of local nonprofit organizations at a recent luncheon held at Café Sapori in West Palm Beach, The event was the official launch of A Directory for Charitable Giving that spotlights 51 outstanding and under-funded charities in Palm Beach County.  More than 10,000 copies of this classy, 4-color and perfect-bound Directory are being circulated throughout the local philanthropic community.

‘Throughout Palm Beach County, smaller charities are making a big difference in our community. But despite their outstanding efforts in fields like education, culture, human services and the environment, as well as international outreach, many of these extraordinary charities operate ‘under the radar’ and receive little recognition for their efforts,” said Mary A. Hammond, Director of Extraordinary Charities, which is dedicated to changing the traditional picture of philanthropy in Palm Beach County and opening the door to new donor opportunities.

“Our annual Directory for Charitable Giving is designed to connect donors with these well deserving local nonprofit organizations – each with its own unique and inspiring story, as well as current needs for specific donor support,” she added.

Representatives from the nonprofits featured in the Directory applauded the effort by Extraordinary Charities. In fact, one was so moved that it donated $1,000 to another participating nonprofit before the lunch had ended.

“Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of A Directory for Charitable Giving can contact our office at 561.791.0403 or view a digital version online at www.extraordinarycharities.org,” said Hammond. “Together, we really can make Palm Beach County a stronger and more cohesive community.”
