MAX Agency models work with the Toronto Brazilian Ball whcih encourages others to give back.
It was a night of cause, charity and celebration at Toronto’s 46th Brazilian Carnival Ball. Held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, hundreds of guests, party-goers and those alike attended the fundraising gala for what would be it’s final extravaganza.
Founded in the sixties by the late Anna Maria de Souza, the Brazilian Ball was created to raise money for a variety of important causes in research, healthcare, culture and education in Toronto and Brazil. Every year the anticipated event would attract thousands of eager guests, anxious for a night of entertainment all for the love of charity. Since then the Brazilian Ball has raised over $55 million for various charities, including the Canadian Association of Psychological Oncology. Over the years the Brazilian Ball has proven to be more than a fundraising event, giving many opportunities to designers in the fashion world to showcase their work. This time around it was Baby Steinberg’s eccentric gowns that got a chance to march down the runway.
The Toronto-based fashion designer displayed a beautiful runway presentation filled with intricate, colorful pieces. Unique in her own way, Steinberg uses a variety of reprocessed materials to construct her designs, such as fabrics, plastic bags, coffee filters and surgical masks. Born in Brazil, Steinberg finds inspiration through her culture and the volunteer work she’s done with children in Southern Brazil. For her runway show, Steinberg featured 12 gorgeous models, one of which being Angela D of MAX Agency.
MAX Agency is one of the most successful model and talent management companies in Canada representing women, men and children throughout Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Scouting and developing new talent, servicing a diverse clientele and successful marketing of the company keeps MAX Agency on top of an ever-changing industry. One of their models, Angela D, volunteered her time to take part in Steinberg’s fashion show for the Brazilian Ball. Angela believes it’s crucial to give back, especially for an important cause.
“I decided to volunteer because it's for a really good cause that’s helped Brazil and many charities over the last couple of years,” she said.
It was an honor for me to be able to participate in this event. Without volunteers it's almost impossible to create something like that.”
