Follow on Google News | Ferrari’s Fastest Car To DateOne of the finest cars for sale in the world was showcased at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The fastest road-going car that Ferrari has ever built, is the eye-popping F12 Berlinetta.
By: Cars.co.za Its successor, the 599 GTB Fiorano takes the company’s traditional front-mid V12 engined GT formula and ushers in a raft of ground-breaking new developments in expressions of the power plant, aerodynamics and efficiency. At the heart of the F12berlinetta lies an obviously aspirated 6 262 cubic cm V12 engine developing 544 Kw. At a low 2 500 r/min this unit serves up 80% of the 690.N.m of torque on offer and keeps churning out its max proportion of twist until the engine reaches a speed of 8 700 r/min. This engine is paired up with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with closer gear ratios specially developed for this power plant. The result is a remarkable performance with the 0 – 100 km/h dash taking a mere 3.1 seconds, 200 km/h arriving from standstill in just 8, 5 seconds and a max speed in excess of 340 km/h. The F12berlinetta features an all-new space-frame chassis, while the body shell designed by Carozza Scaglietti uses 12 different alloys resulting in a 20% increase in structural firmness. Among the interior highlights are Frau Leather cabin trim with carbon-fibre accents, a slim-line facia and aluminum air vents inspired by the aeronautic field. Ferrari’s Styling Centre and famed coachbuilder Pininfarina collaborated to design the new GT, developing traditional coupé design traits with clever sleek features.
