Sandhills Thermal Imaging Joins RoofScanIR™ Network for Infrared Surveys in Fayetteville, NC

Sandhills Thermal Imaging of Fayetteville, North Carolina joins the RoofScanIR™ Network to provide infrared surveys to locate entrained moisture in roof systems.
Dec. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- The RoofScanIR™ Network Announces Sandhills Thermal Imaging as its Newest Service Provider for Infrared Roof Scans in the Fayetteville, NC area

ROOFSCANIR™ is a network of infrared thermographers who provide on-roof infrared surveys of flat roofs of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential buildings.  A ROOFSCANIR™ Survey provides customers with a simple means of checking for, locating, or verifying the presence of water in a roof system.  Building owners can save thousands of dollars by repairing damaged sections of roofing instead of completely replacing the roof.

Sandhills Thermal Imaging announces the opening of the newest service area of the ROOFSCANIR™ Network.   Sandhills Thermal Imaging is now an authorized service provider of ROOFSCANIR™ in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Sandhills Thermal Imaging ( is owned and operated by Brad Gilbertson.  The company is based out of Fayetteville, North Carolina and mainly provides service to the Sandhills region of the state. However, their thermographers can travel to any location where service is needed. The company is a full-service thermography company capable of providing any infrared imaging a client may need. “We provide professional infrared services for a wide variety of clients in the Fayetteville area.  Being part of a nationwide network provides our company with a huge resource of expertise in many different applications of infrared thermography, which we provide to our clients,” states Mr. Gilbertson. Sandhills Thermal Imaging uses state-of-the-art FLIR™ infrared equipment to produce photographic-quality reports showing subsurface roof moisture contamination in flat and low-sloped roofs.

Many flat roofs require replacement before the end of their design life because moisture intrusion allows the roof’s substrate to become wet.  A qualitative infrared roof moisture survey can identify and document moisture problems before the roof fails.  This enables the owner’s roofing professional to make informed decisions so that actions can be taken to correct the problem areas without the expense of replacing the entire roof.  Since the life of the roof can be increased by as much as 300%, the savings for each roof can be tens of thousands of dollars to the roof owner.

The RoofScanIR™ service is owned by United Infrared, Inc. (UI), a North Carolina Corporation which provides applications-specific resource systems for contractors of infrared thermographic services.  UI is owned by Greg Stockton and Peter Hopkins and was created to help contractors add infrared technologies to their business.

"RoofScanIR™ methodologies, quality control and the reports are all standardized,” states Greg Stockton, President of United Infrared, Inc. “This means that a national company can have one point of contact, one standard price structure, and will receive a high-quality survey and report…on any one of their building roofs, anywhere in the USA. We are glad to welcome Sandhills Thermal Imaging as our RoofScanIR™ partner and look forward to working together,” he concludes.

“The most unique aspect of this service is that we are a nationwide network of local infrared contractors, which is what enables us to provide affordable, high-quality surveys for our customers.  This is especially valuable for customers with multiple locations, who can be assured of receiving the same level of service in all of their locations,” says Peter Hopkins.
