Dec. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Pupils at Bedales Prep Dunhurst were delighted to find they had raised £2,800 for charity after a special end of term fair entitled Helping Other People in Trouble or (HOPIT). The fair featured stalls selling a variety of home-made products as well as fun games and challenges. The money was raised for a number of school supported charities including the Miraflor project, which the school has been supporting for many years to help children in the coffee-growing areas of Nicaragua get a better education.

Commenting on the pupil’s achievements, Jane Grubb, Head of Dunhurst, said: “The stalls ranged from the beautiful to the comical; some very high quality cakes and produce and some very messy and sticky games and challenges. HOPIT is an annual event in the school’s calendar and it is great for the children to try out their entrepreneurial skills for the benefit of the wider community. We encourage all students to get involved in philanthropic endeavours, which is a key element of our school’s ethos.”
