By: John Beth The global corporate governance has been actively promoting gender equality within the board rooms in publicly quoted companies in Europe, the efforts have been put together with leading MBA Schools throughout Europe including, London Business School, the European Commission and senior Executive Woman’s Group. Wendy Alexander, Associate Dean, Degree Programmes and Career Services, London Business School said, "At London Business School, we're wholeheartedly committed to enabling equality at board level within companies and organisations. Hence we're thrilled to support the much-needed Board Ready Women initiative, which will help women who are aspiring to be on, or who already serve on a board, connect with companies, recruiters and peers. I encourage all London Business School women to join the list, share their experience and follow the debate". The list is overseen by the Financial Times Non-Executive Directors’ Club and is present on the LinkedIn social Business Platform. This has enabled it to get a global outreach and as of now stands at 8000 plus profiles for woman who are either capable of taking station on Boards or already have prior experience serving on Boards. Bridget Cosgrave, MBA1988, London Business School said, "As alumnae, our links to LBS are often grounded in personal relationships with classmates and professors, and fundraising initiatives. Therefore it is a pleasure to see the School engaging in something new, the Global Board Ready Women database, a global initiative to enhance career prospects for all women graduates. The Global Board Ready Women database is an excellent tool for alumnae already active in, or aspiring to roles in corporate governance. The list is a global network to increase gender diversity in corporate governance worldwide". To further add to this Initiative the selected candidates for the GBRW searchable database are also linked to the BoardEx’s Profiles and have access to the database which consists of 500,000 plus corporations and companies. The woman from prestigious MBA schools will highly benefit from this initiative especially with the backing of Schools across Europe. For more information, please visit; http://www.london.edu/ End
