-- The Baitul Salaam Network, Inc. an international domestic violence awareness organization has reached the wonderful sweet age of 16. In our society when a young woman turns 16 she is no longer a child she is a young woman. Our organization is no longer in its infancy it has come of age. This anniversary will be celebrated by us hosting an international prayer vigil. We are using social media as the medium to encourage all nations to pray with us on Thursday, January 17 for an end to the crimes committed in abusive homes all over the world.
We are taught in Islam that prayer is the direct connection with Allah (God). We are going to connect with Allah (God) on the day of our anniversary and pray for all acts of violence against women and children in abusive homes to end. We are praying for people to understand that beating someone in your family is a crime, marital rape is a crime, molestation of children is a crime. Neglect and abuse of the elderly is a crime, etc. We understand some men are abused as well and pray for their safety.
We are praying on this day for peace in all homes around the world. Come join us Thursday, January 17 beginning with our first ritual prayer Salatul Fajr (just before sunrise) and ending with Salatul Isha (the night prayer 8 pm in most areas) for a day of worship.
