-- Visual arts are an important enhancement to the curriculum and culture of Litchfield Montessori School. The art program for the elementary students offers extensions of their classroom studies. Art Specialist, Tina Zamaglione, a watercolorist and sculptor, introduced students to various techniques and masterworks to create life sized cutout portraits and sculptural paintings that integrate poetry.
In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Litchfield Montessori School, both the Lower and Upper Elementary classes created a collage project incorporating the number “40” into cloth banners. Inspired by the art of Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, students were introduced to basic composition, fabric, sewing, and color studies to create their own works of art.
In this mixed media show, the students work will be showcased.
