-- The 5th Bengaluru International Film Festival is all set to start from December 20 - 27, 2012, and now issuing Daily Passes to meet the high demand for the festival. Movie Buffs/viewers need to spend only Rs. 100 to select the day where their favorite movies will be screened.
Daily passes will be available in Fame Lido and at INOX at Garuda Mall.
The festival is being organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy for Government of Karnataka supported by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. It is emphasizing on quality of Films classified such as world cinema, Asian cinema, Indian cinema and Kannada films. Besides these, there will be retrospective of great filmmakers, and classics of the world and Indian cinema.
Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy was formed by the Government of Karnataka in 2009 to promote film culture in Karnataka. The Academy, under the chairmanship of Smt. Tharaanooradha
, has taken up several projects to develop a healthy film culture in the state and adopted the motto of promoting ‘Education in Cinema and Cinema in Education’. KCA has been conducting Film Appreciation Courses in different parts of the state, in colleges and film societies. It has also promoted the establishment of district, institutional and campus film societies all over the state. It engaged the members of these societies to participate in the first-ever KCA International Film Festival, a low-budget event with DVD screenings of 100 films, which found overwhelming response in Bengaluru and four other districts of Karnataka.
