Averna in Running for Three Prestigious Best in Test 2013 Awards

RP-5300 RF Recorder, RF Studio software and DOCSIS Channel Emulator have been selected as finalists
Dec. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Montreal, December 17, 2012 – Every year, the editors at Test & Measurement World choose nominees that represent the year’s most significant innovations in electronic product testing. Averna’s RP-5300 RF Recorder, RF Studio software and DOCSIS Channel Emulator have been selected as finalists. Now, it’s your turn to vote for the winners.

Finalist, RF/MW Test Category

RF Studio
RF Studio enables users to quickly define and record multiple channels of RF and other signals. Once captured, these signals can be easily loaded and manipulated, allowing users to isolate and visualize any characteristic of the captured data for in-depth analysis and product refinements. It features a comprehensive plug-in-based architecture that allows users to quickly enable new features such as channels, hardware, analytic tools, signal conditioning, and remote triggering.

DOCSIS Channel Emulator
Averna’s DOCSIS Channel Emulator (DCE) is a desktop test instrument that fully simulates a cable network while allowing testers to apply numerous real-time network and bandwidth impairments such as micro-reflections and phase noise to performance-test their set-top boxes, residential gateways and other broadband devices. The DCE has a frequency range of 65 MHz–1.004 GHz, covers 80 MHz of bandwidth and comes with a test “personality” that addresses industry certification requirements like SCTE 40.
>>NI Technology Inside: The DOCSIS Channel Emulator is powered by the NI VST and FlexRIO, and was developed with LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA.

Finalist, LTE/Wireless Test Category

RP-5300 Multi-Channel RF Recorder
The RP-5300 is a highly portable device that installs easily in any vehicle and captures up to 50 MHz of RF signals, such as multiple GNSS signals (in up to two L1, L2, or L5 bands) plus impairments. Technicians can then return to the lab with many hours of valuable real-world signals, including multi-path, interference and general degradation. With the RP-5300’s well-stocked toolkit, users can build an extensive library of real-world environments for receiver validation, testing and support, which significantly reduces the need for repetitive drive-tests, ensures test repeatability and greatly expands use-case coverage.
>>NI Technology Inside: The RP-5300 RF Recorder features PXI RF products and RAID from NI.
