Dec. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- The Legacy Senior Communities’ “The Yes! Event” welcomed more than 600 guests to a luncheon at the Omni Dallas Hotel that featured a fashion dialogue between Karen Katz, president and CEO of the Neiman Marcus Group, and Ken Downing, senior vice president and fashion director for Neiman Marcus. The luncheon raised over $300,000 to benefit The Legacy at Preston Hollow – Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged.

The event’s theme “The Art of Fashion: A View From The Front Row and Beyond” gave attendees an insider’s look into the latest fashion news in apparel, shoes, accessories and jewelry from the 2013 Spring Runway Collections in New York, London, Milan and Paris.

“        If you don’t love color, you are going to have to sit this season out,” said Downing during the event. “My goal after returning from the fashion shows is to bring ‘the catwalk to the sidewalk.’ We want to find beautiful clothes that are going to flatter our customers and help them exude confidence.”

The funds raised from the event allow The Legacy Senior Communities to continue their nearly 60-year history of providing housing and healthcare options to seniors of all faiths. Many of the residents they serve rely solely on The Legacy to provide financial assistance and a secure and comfortable environment.

“Growing up, my grandmother was my dearest friend and closest confidant,” said Carol Aaron, honorary chair of “The Yes! Event” and chairman of the board of The Legacy Senior Communities. “It was the Dallas Home for Jewish Aged , Golden Acres, now known as The Legacy at Preston Hollow, that cared for her when she no longer could care for herself. The Legacy is near and dear to my heart, and I am so grateful to those of you who said ‘Yes!’ in support of improving the quality of life for today’s seniors.”
