Adelphi Graduate Students take First Prize in the 2012 University Trading Challenge
Four graduate students from Adelphi University's Robert B. Willumstad School of Business won the Portfolio Trading Team Champion trophy in the 2012 University Trading Challenge (UTC).
Team AU was among 80 students, representing 14 universities that took part in the competition. The students dedicated a lot of time to the challenge while also juggling a full course load. Professors Michael Driscoll, Jiang Zhang, Simon Yang and Liem Nguyen helped prepare the team and served as valuable resources.
Initiated in 2010, the University Trading Challenge is an annual event with competitions held in New York and London. Participating in the University Trading Challenge gives students the chance to practice in the areas of finance, quantitative analysis, and business leadership in a real world scenario while showcasing their trading abilities to prospective employers.
