Eminent Denver Attorney Makes a Career Shift… Now Feeds Colorado’s Hungry

Bill Peters learned it takes work to build a law practice, spending more 25 years running his own in Denver. In 2010, Bill made a pivotal career change, and now dedicates his time to Happy Belly Farm feeding thousands of Coloradans each year.

Dec. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Bill Peters, noted Denver attorney walked away from traffic altercations, criminal cases and the stress of the courtroom to fulfill his lifetime passion of becoming a farmer, and to “giving back”.  It was something on his mind since he was a young boy, and in 2010, he made the leap of faith, founding Happy Belly Farm.  Two years later, he is one of the leading benefactors to many of these life-changing organizations, having already donated 5+ tons of chemical free food.

How much do these contributions mean to the local community? Ryan Galanaugh, Deputy Director for Metro CareRing cannot say enough good things about Bill’s efforts.

“As Denver’s largest hunger relief organization serving families, Metro CareRing depends on the generous contributions of local growers like Happy Belly Farm.  Limited access to fresh fruits and vegetables has caused many of our low-income neighbors to rely on cheap, empty calories found at fast-food restaurants and convenience stores.”

“Donating nearly three-quarters of a ton of fresh produce to Metro CareRing monthly, Happy Belly Farm is helping increase access to nutritious food and helping reverse the correlation between food insecurity and obesity in our community.”

So, what motivates a successful lawyer to become “Mr. Green Jeans”?  It starts with becoming a husband to his soul mate, (long past when he expected to meet “Ms. Right”), to being blessed with his brilliant little princesses, and as if all this were not enough, it continues through a lifelong, heartfelt desire to make a difference in the world.  Bill is quick to add, “These are difficult times for many and I am both humbled and honored to contribute to the families and organizations in our community.”

Bill Peters is available to speak to your organization about following your heart and crafting a life that makes a difference.  Bill welcomes any and all donations and is hoping that some generous Colorado companies might choose to adopt his cause this holiday season.  To learn how you can help, please call 303-587-2315 or e-mail debra@socialclimb.org.
