Dec. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Baltimore, MD - On Wednesday, December 12th, at The Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore, 635 West Lexington Street, Baltimore, MD 21201, Family Christmas Party between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., Sweet Minerals participated in the Family Christmas Event at The Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore. This party was jam-packed with carolers and fun and included family portrait sessions donated by a local photographer, ponies disguised as reindeer, crafts with the Ravens’ Cheerleaders, a magic show by Ronald McDonald himself, dinner provided by Giant, and a visit and gifts for all of the children from the BIG man…SANTA! Sweet Minerals signed onto the event to help moms relax and feel beautiful for the big night.

Sweet Minerals provided a full-sized Flawless Face package, including a Foundation, Bronzer, Blush, Veil, Foundation Brush, and a Blushing Brush (retail value of $140) applied during a how-to makeup application session (what they like to call a Sweet Home Party) for 16 moms currently staying at the house and 6 staff members. Sweet Minerals is owned and operated by four female partners. One owner, Candace Maurer, knows personally how a Ronald McDonald House is an amazing place for families to retain a bit of normalcy during the toughest time in their lives. As a child she had several leg-lengthening surgeries and her parents were able to stay at a Ronald McDonald House in Delaware. Thus, finding a unique way to contribute was natural for this progressive company, with its mantra of helping women improve their lives.

Maurer explains, "We initially planned on selling our high-end product in exclusive salons. However, while doing trade shows to launch our products, we saw what happened to women who came in our booth to try our make-up; it was magical--they would look in the mirror, big smiles would appear on their faces, and they could not stop looking at themselves. Our makeup, along with expert tips on application, visibly increased a woman's self-confidence." Thus they changed the business plan to allow for expanded sales through the training and contracting of independent female sales-consultants, and are reaching a wider demographic while providing their premium products at a lower cost. "With our focus on female empowerment, it was natural for us to find a way to bring Sweet Minerals at no charge to the women at the Ronald McDonald House this holiday season."

Nothing seems scarier to kids with serious medical problems than having to get through treatments without their families to support them. Moms are often their chief nurturers and commonly neglect their own personal needs. The Ronald McDonald House Family Christmas Party aimed to provide some joy for these children and their families, and Sweet Minerals was happy to do its part to help the female members look lovely for their kids, for the pictures, and most of all, for themselves.
