Athens-Clarke County, GA Real Estate Sales Up, Inventory Down

Comparing 2011 and 2012 numbers of active listings and sold properties, there are less houses on the market and more solds in year-to-date data. This shows a slight improvement in the Athens-Clarke County, GA real estate market.
Dec. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Inventory is down and sales are up in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia.  According to the Historical Active Report, for January 1- November 2011, there were 3,995 homes actively listed in Athens-Clarke County, GA and in the same time period in 2012, there were only 3,549 homes active.  This shows an inventory decrease of 12% from 2011 to 2012, January-November.  

Meanwhile, during the same time period, there was an increase in sold properties in Athens-Clarke County, GA, as supplied by the NAR Residential Sold Report from 758 residential properties sold in 2011 to 872 in 2012.  This is a 15% increase in number of properties sold.
