Huge growth across the many social platforms have seen Facebook smash the 1 Billion mark and Twitter expand faster ahead of Google+ infront of young pretenders like Pinterest and Instagram, yet members are not the only numbers view, it's the engagements that are taking place every second that are the real story.
Global communication without boundaries, business, friendships, events all intensified by the engaging nature of the medium and what a year 2012 was from the British Royal Diamond Jubilee through to American Presidential election, each breaking records along the way. And then there was the Olympics, truly the first proper 'social' Olympics and what about the one off brave and daring feats such as Alex Baumgartner's 26 mile fall to earth.
