Tracesmart secures BS10012 validation

Dec. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Leading consumer data specialist, Tracesmart has further substantiated its high standards in Personal Information Management Systems following confirmation of its alignment with BS10012:2009. The benchmark reaffirms Tracesmart’s already high standards following its ISO27001 certification in November 2010 which provides a model for establishing, operating, reviewing and improving Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). This delivers the business with a trusted framework that ensures its data - and those of its clients - are kept secure and confidential.

BS10012 is a British Standard for Data Protection. Written in 2009, it provides an infrastructure for maintaining and improving Data Protection Act compliance. Tracesmart is audited externally on a 6 monthly basis to ensure on-going adherence, allowing the company to provide additional confidence to all its clients, staff and stakeholders, and that all its processing is in-line with the Data Protection Act.

The standard strengthens Tracesmart's warranty and current product offerings, which include identity verification, existence checks, people tracing and consumer data cleansing. These services are employed by a large and diverse range of businesses, from SME to FTSE 100 companies, and are prominent within the financial services, pensions and collections industries.

Tracesmart was audited externally by Parker Business Development Limited to verify alignment with BS10012:2009, and they issued this statement, “Following an audit involving sampling exercises, we confirm that Tracesmart Limited has created a Personal Information Management System as required by BS10012:2009 and has aligned its data protection operations to the principles of this Standard.”
