Follow on Google News | Something for Everyone at La Cañada Presbyterian Church on Christmas EveChristmas Eve will be special this year at La Cañada Presbyterian Church. There’s something for everyone in 4 different services including the Children's & Youth Choirs, Drama, Candle Lighting, Contemporary Music, a free concert & Lessons & Carols.
The services at 4 and 5:30 p.m. “are designed for all generations – whether you have children or not,” said Judy Brock, who directs LCPC’s youth choirs, assisted by her twin sister, Janet Boggs. “They will express the joy and meaning of Christmas through the beautiful voices of our children and youth, with traditional carols accompanied by guitars, mandolin and fiddle.” Media and candlelight (by battery) will be interwoven in the services. The Cherub Choir (ages 5-7) and FaithVoice (teen-age girls) will sing at the 4 p.m. service, while the Celebrate Singers (ages 8-12) and FaithVoice will be featured at 5:30 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. service will include the Praise Band, led by Andrew Pratt, with communion and candle lighting. At 9:30, Jack Lantz will lead a concert featuring the Chancel Choir and its talented soloists. It will be followed at 10 by a traditional service of Lessons & Carols. Lantz promised “a variety of musical styles to appeal to everyone.” That will include Gregory Geiger in a tribute to Andy Williams with “Christmas Is Love,” with an arrangement by Geiger’s brother, Michael. The choir will sing “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” layered over an accompaniment based on a Bach excerpt from “The Well-Tempered Clavier.” La Cañada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada, CA.
