The 2nd Annual AfriCaribbean Comedy Blowout Philadelphia, 1/19/2013 @ Gallerie Isada
A night of laughter and fine entertainment featuring comedians from the international circuit, with a live performance from a legendary reggae DJ. This culture unifying night begins at 9 pm with an after-party to follow the show.
In this night of laughs Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Africa and U.S.A. will be represented. Owen "Blakka" Eliis, a comedy legend will be representing Jamaica. He's starred on stage and film and well known from the comedy duo Bello & Blakka. Errol Fabien will be representing Trinidad & Tobago. He is a comedy veteran ready to come and represent his country in Philadelphia. A.G.White of Brooklyn, New York will represent the U.S.A. A.G. has graced the stage of the famed Apollo of New York, performed on HBO’s P. Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy, BET’s Comic View and travels all over the world with his brand of multi-cultural comedy. Keesha Brownie of Montreal, Canada is representing the birthplace of her parents Jamaica, as well as the ladies. She is building her comedy portfolio by being a regular at Canada's Yuk Yuk's and many other triple A rated comedy shows as well as producing her very own critically acclaimed comedy show called Jokers Corner. This will be her debut in Philly and she's busting with excitement. Trixx of Toronto was featured in last year's show representing Africa and he vows to tear the place down once again. He is a comedic monster, non-stop laughs. Trixx has opened for Aries Spears (of MadTV Fame) and Sugar Sammy (HBO Canada). Comedy veteran of Tobago Tommy Joseph will be making his second appearance ever in Philadelphia. Tommy has been one of the Caribbean's foremost comedians and master of ceremonies, especially at Carnival time. Philly here he comes! Legendary reggae DJ Professor Nuts will be the live musical performer of the evening. Professor Nuts is known for being the first Jamaican dancehall artist to combine comedy, social commentary and music.
Last year's show delivered on its promise to give the Philadelphia tri-state an evening of fine entertainment. Caribbean American, African and all Americans communities can come out, laugh and hopefully have energy left to dance at the after-party once the show ends. Bar and food for sale. GALLERIE ISADA is located at 3320 Collins St., Philadelphia, Pa 19134. It is a beautiful upscale space that happens to be an art gallery. Take in the wonderful art pieces and sculptures. This will be the perfect backdrop for this artistic experience.
