Recon MX Takes 5th Open Pro in the 2012 Score Baja 1000

Every year the Best of the Best head south for a rugged 1000 mile race called the Baja 1000. For this year the Recon MX crew built a brand new 2013 CRF 450X for the event.

It started with the heart of the bike "The Engine", We installed a proven "R" cam, Race Spec Valve Springs along with lightened intake and exhaust valves. FMF provided a Baja custom built complete exhaust (not an off the shelf item) this FMF Exhaust was based off a proven material tested by Factory KTM Specifically for Baja.

The Carb is oversized to match the oversized cylinder head and custom porting. Air box Mod and custom computer mapping on the ignition system provided the 100 mph top speed with the ability to run trouble free for 1000 miles and beyond. The Suspension was tuned using a works shock piston, Modified Shock Compression adjuster, Re-valved settings and then serviced on our factory fill Vacuum pump machine to complete the "zero" air bleed on the shock circuits. The front forks were tuned to handle the high speed wheel velocity and additional counter weight of the oversized IMS 3.2 Fuel Tank along with the frame mounted Dual 8 Inch Baja Designs Race lights.
