What does being the authority in your market really mean?

There is no other marketing media which has so much diversity as does the online space.

I have been involved in operating a business website for a small business that I own and in the beginning I was totally frustrated with the whole online thing.

I set up the website and then sat back thinking that people would start clicking on the pages.

WRONG!!!

So I started to get online and read about what I could do to get people landing on my site.

Well, how much information is out there on this subject. Talk about confusing.

Then came all the emails from guru's who were saying this is easy or I have a quick way to do this or an automated way to do that.

I was almost at the stage of throwing the whole idea out the window. But I didn't.

What I did was decided to find out about this internet marketing subject for myself.

I wanted to see if what these people were saying could be done, was actually possible.

What I found was that most of the so called gurus weren't doing what they said they did and that most of the stuff that is automated and can be done in massive proportions eventually come under the scrutiny of the Google Police and they ban it.

So here I was once again thinking that this whole idea was just too hard.

Finally I worked out what the proper long lasting way to get my website up to the top of the search engines and not only that, I also learnt that there is many other places people can find your message, not just the search engines.

So now I was a bit happier, I applied what I was learning and my website was moving up the rankings. To the point where now it is consistantly number 1, 2, or 3 depending on the day of the week.

The other thing I have learned is that there are changes happening constantly which need to be acted upon quick ly so you don't loose any future business.

But once I got it right I pretty quickly became the Authority in the Market and people wanted to know me. A flow of business started up and continues to role in. I even got a radio interview as a result.

So this can be done, if I can learn it I guess anyone can.

What does it take?

A willingness to learn it

endless hours of learn and keeping upto date

Someone who knows you can learn from

Or you can get someone who has done it and knows what to do to make it work and pay them to do it.
