Swing into Winter Dance 2013 Winter Dance 2013 is the sibling festival of Summer Dance, Chicago’s own outdoor dance series and the largest of its kind in the country. Bringing together three area dance studios and local bands, the diverse array of musical styles will take attendees on a journey through popular styles of dance and culture over the years. The schedule will include one hour of dance instruction followed by two hours of live music, dancing, and fun. All ages and skill levels are welcome to attend. Below is a list of dates and times along with the band and dance studio featured for each day. On Friday, January 4, 2013 performers will include The Flat Cats swing band and Big City Swing will teach a swing dancing class. The event will run from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, January 5, 2013 the Carpacho y Su Super Combo will play various classic Latin styles and Latin Rhythms will teach salsa form 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. Finally on Sunday, January 6, 2013 the Teddy Lee Orchestra will provide ballroom music and the special studio from Chicago Dance will focus on the Fox Trot from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Concierge Preferred (http://www.conciergepreferred.com) Is a premier Chicago guide providing recommendations and news on food, art, culture, music, hotels, and more.
