Dec. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The holiday season is always a time to remember to give back to those less fortunate.  To honor this belief, Mirador hosted a special luncheon honoring three Corpus Christi charities and made donations to each group.  Senior Companions received $10,000, the Corpus Christi Senior Community Service Programs (meals on wheels) received $5,000 and The Parkinson’s Foundation of TX:  Catch the Cure (support group) received $4,500. Representatives from each charity attended the luncheon and accepted the donations.

“The holidays are a time for giving and thinking of others,” said Aaron DeNovellis, executive director at Mirador.  “We are so fortunate to be able to help three such deserving organizations this year. They help so many people year round, and we hope our donations can make the holidays a little brighter for all the folks they serve.”

Senior Companions is a program offered by the City of Corpus Christi. Since 1974, Senior Companions (volunteers age 55+) have provided assistance to adults with physical, emotional, or mental health limitations, most of whom are elderly. Community Service Programs (meals on wheels) is also a service provided by the City of Corpus Christi that provides meal delivery to those in need. The Parkinson’s Foundation of Texas: Catch the Cure is a local nonprofit support group that supports Parkinson’s disease sufferers and research.
