Dec. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta Mercedes-Benz fans may have wondered if the G-Class would make it into 2025. Mercedes-Benz has squelched those doubts by introducing the Ener-G-Force concept during the Los Angeles Design Challenge 2012.

Of course, the robust and tough Ener-G-Force is a concept that is built from fantasy, but the idea that the G-Class could sustain societal changes and environmental demands excited the designers and Atlanta Mercedes-Benz drivers alike.

The Ener-G-Force would be completely capable of supporting police and emergency vehicles, no matter where they have to drive. Designers also created a civilian version, even going so far as to build a 1:1-scale model.

"The Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow's adventures, also invokes the genes of the Mercedes-Benz off-road icon, the G-Class. Modern and cool, it could also be a clue about a new beginning for the off-road design idiom of Mercedes-Benz," said Gorden Wagener, Director of Design at Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Revolutionary G-Class Tackles Future Environmental Issues

It’s easy to envision future Atlanta GA Mercedes-Benz drivers navigating the road in an Ener-G-Force. With a similar profile to the G-Class, the Ener-G-Force also features a higher shoulder line, “G” shaped headlamps, and large wheels.

"Of course we wanted to take a clear step forward, but we also wanted the G's characteristic features," said Ener-G-Force Designer Hubert Lee.

The engineering of the Ener-G-Force keeps environmental concerns at the forefront of design. The rugged SUV will emit only water, and operate about 500 miles on the hydro-tech converter where natural gas and renewable resources are converted into hydrogen to operate fuel cells.

Future drivers will also be able to use the “Terra Scan” feature, a 360-degree topography scanner on the roof that scans surroundings and adjusts spring and damping rates accordingly, keeping the driver in control both on and off-road.
