Novosoft Announces Details of a New Online Backup Service

Dec. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Alliance, Ohio, December 4, 2012 – Novosoft, one of the leading providers of backup solutions for small and medium businesses, revealed details of the upcoming update to their Online Backup service. The list of planned changes includes improved billing, new authorization system, ultra-fast performance and new options for integrators and resellers. The renewed service is planned for launch in the beginning of 2013.

The service will be based on cloud version of Handy Backup that will interchange data with your local instance of Handy Backup, just the way it works in the Network Server edition of the program.”

Handy Backup Network Server is Novosoft’s enterprise solution that allows doing centralized backup of multiple computers that have client software installed on them. Client applications (Handy Backup Workstations) can read data, compress and encrypt it, and send the respective data stream to other Workstations. Backup operations are performed with the use of “delta copying” method: instead of overwriting files already backed up, Handy Backup computes differences and copies only modifications, saving time and network bandwidth.

“Most storage and file sharing services don’t provide any optimization techniques at all,” said Mr. Rassokhin. “For example, making daily backups of a commercial database will require you to use terabytes of bandwidth each month. With our new service you will be able to copy only changes, and greatly reduce the related costs.”

The technology developed by Novosoft is not limited to their Online Backup service. The same scheme can be employed by any Online hosting service, which is one of the partnership opportunities that the company plans to offer.
