Texila American University is the Caribbean Medical school. It is located in Guyana, The campus has an infrastructure with technical classrooms. It provides digital interactive learning systems attached to the projector. We record all lectures and trainings. So the students can assess any class at any time. The classroom has Data Projector. It is linked to the to the internet with High speed wifi.

TAU is registered in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). This is an accurate compilation of international medical schools. It is recognized by the appropriate government agency.

IADR:

The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) also registers Texila American University. It improves oral health worldwide.

Texila American University is also accredited by GAME (Global Alliance for Medical Education), AMEE (Association For Medical Education), NAC (National Accreditation Council) of Guyana, IADL (International Association for Distance Learning), United Kingdom, SWAPP (Swiss Association of Pharmaceutical Professionals)          

Financial Aid

Students are eligible to apply for educational loans. U.S. and Canadian Citizens as well as permanent residents are eligible to apply loan on their own. For this no co-signer is needed. It is highly optional to apply with a co-signer. TAU  administration supports all the students to get a loan. This will facilitate the loan process.

Scholarships

Texila American University  [TAU]  distinguishes the excellence in education, public interest, and volunteer services of the applicants. Texila American University  has proposed a number of full and partial scholarships. This will enable qualified students for each semester. The scholarship will be given to a limited number of students. Eligible students are considered to apply earlier. The eligible accepted students are forced to make a apply for the present scholarships. The needed informations are posted on the website.

Lab:

The university has equipped labs to get practical based training. They are as follows:

1) Histology and physiology labs:

The histology lab deals with the study of anatomy. It includes cells and tissues of plants and animals. It is examined by a thin slice of tissue under an electron microscope.

The university has a physiology lab. This method is applied to determine the physical function of the organisms. It includes organ systems, cells and bio-molecules. These carry out the chemical or physical function in a living system

2) Anatomy Museum

Anatomy is a branch of biology and medicine. The anatomy museum has lots of learning materials. These are essential for the student. Anatomy classes take place in the museum. Then only the students understand visually and learn more theoretically.

3) Biochemistry & Genetics lab

Biochemistry labs have specimens, experiments, and other activities.

A genetics laboratory deals with genetic process and genetic research. Genetic data may be dealt with information on behavior, structure, or the evolution of life.

4) Microbiology and Pathology lab

The university has a microbiology laboratory. In the microbiology lab most of the testing, culturing, and research can take place. Microbiology labs should be clean and sterile place to work.

Pathology laboratory is equipped with automated instruments. Hematological investigations can be carried out here. It includes hemoglobin content, total leukocytes present, the number of platelets, red blood cells and other things.

5) Pharmacology

The pharmacology lab contains all the instruments and animals. The research activity is carried out by the Student. We can learn about the action on living tissues. By using this knowledge we can use this for the treatment of various diseases and disorders. This is from the science of therapeutics.

Transfer Students:

Students may get transferred from any medical schools to TAU. Students may transfer at any semester level. The TAU Admissions Office offers transcripts to these students.

Hostel Facilities:

The university has hostel accommodation. The room can be one, two and three sharing. This may be chosen by the student. It usually depends on the budget of the student. The rooms are air conditioned and well furnished. It includes facilities like refrigerator, laundry, telephone, WIFI Internet.

Food:

The food varieties include Indian, Chinese, English and  French Cuisines. Students may also cook in the rooms. For Islamic Students there is an available in Halal Food. Students can do the laundry on their own or by the paid laundry service. This is available in the hostel premises.

Travel Info:

There are frequent flights between Guyana and Cities of New York, Miami, Toronto & Ft Lauderdale. Also there are regular connections from Barbados, Port of Spain in Trinidad to Guyana.

Many International Airlines are available from USA, Europe fly to Port of Spain and Barbados . These flights will reach Guyana. There is also availability of direct flights from Brazil, Trinidad & Tobago.

Visa Tips:

These are the requirements for entry into Guyana :

· Students must submit their notarized copies of passport, certificate, diploma or degree

·  The Texila American University also procedures VISA programs.

· The acceptance procedure in Guyana requires one Month. If the students are accepted to have a study in Guyana, a Visa will be subject to them at the airport in Guyana. An associate of the University will be at the international terminal to get students. During that time an acceptance letter will be provided to the students before travelling to Guyana.

·  Students who have the approval letter only be allowed in Guyana. Students should carry all his documents attested by the division of education and then by the Guyanese embassy. If the embassies are not present then they can obtain the attestation from UK embassy.
