Follow on Google News | Brighton's First Travel Writing & Blogging Society Creates a Stir!Holiday-n-Adventure launches Brighton's first group for travel writers and bloggers, to strengthen the local travel blogging scene. Meet-ups at 7pm on Thursdays at 20 Queens Road offer workshops and travel industry advice to locals of all abilities.
By: Holiday-n-Adventure Ltd. Travel blogging is becoming an increasingly popular way to connect audiences with far-flung destinations in a human-centred way. Whilst guidebooks and traditional media often find themselves out of date, travel blogging is a way to provide up-to-date, first-hand knowledge about certain places all over the world. From the Inca Trail in Peru to the rainforests in Borneo, tips, tricks, and information can be relayed instantly with the help of the internet to millions of readers who appreciate an insider’s personal experience more than an unpersonable block of text in a book. This increase in the popularity of travel blogging has encouraged a new community, all of whom are dedicated to providing relevant and interesting content to their readers. But it’s not just content that travel bloggers produce; more often than not they are also publishers, marketers, and editors of their sites which relies on them having knowledge spanning multiple disciplines. It can be difficult keeping up with the current trends in all of these industries and the seemingly endless amount of skills to learn has resulted in a number of conferences, workshops and meet-ups dedicated solely to travel bloggers. By providing a place for like-minded people to connect with each other and learn, these events create inspiration for many travel bloggers to keep on turning out top quality information to their readers. These kinds of meet-ups and groups take place all over the world; from London to various cities throughout the USA, there is a place for travel bloggers to connect with each other. As of yet, though, there has been no such group established in Brighton. What place could offer more inspiration to travel bloggers than England’s gem of the south, with its famous pebble beaches and eclectic atmosphere? The weekly meet-up will encourage local travel bloggers to connect with each other as well as offer new ideas and inspiration to the rest of the community. As well as providing a much-needed space for like-minded people to socialise, the meet-up will offer industry relevant help such as writing workshops, blog advice, and SEO skills, as well as the opportunity to create local contacts. The power of connecting with peers and colleagues is often underrated, particularly in an industry that is so internet-based. Holiday-n-Adventure hope to create a place where fellow travel bloggers can gain a wealth of knowledge from others in the same position as themselves, as well as a place where the group can receive tips and advice from industry professionals in a relaxed and friendly environment.
