Jim Mulligan Leads Panel At Snell & Wilmer's Fourth Annual Colorado Focus Event

This year’s event featured prominent and distinguished government and business leaders who offered their post-election perspectives on the potential impact of the results on the local and statewide business community.

Dec. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- The Fourth Annual Colorado Focus event featured Governor John Hickenlooper as the keynote speaker. The Governor covered issues generated by the national and state election results, emphasizing the that Statehouse now will be under democratic control in the House, the Senate and in the Governor’s office, resulting in some related challenges when there is not a balance between parties.  Governor Hickenlooper  then addressed questions from the audience regarding Amendment 64, remarking that it may be a bit early to break out the “Cheetos and Goldfish” as regulations will need to be addressed and the Federal illegality is still present. Mulligan’s business leader panel, with representatives from the small business, construction and infrastructure, banking and finance, energy, and healthcare industries, proceeded to examine the potential ramifications of the election results on their respective sectors and on the state as a whole.

At the previous  Snell & Wilmer Colorado Focus events, Mulligan led panel discussions that examined topics including  Colorado’s Infrastructure – Challenges and Opportunities;  Understanding the Impact of the 2012 Financial Reform; and Stimulus and Financial Recovery Programs from a Federal, State and Local Perspective.

Mulligan’s practice emphasizes most aspects of commercial and mixed-use real estate, including urban, resort and suburban developments, with an additional focus in the structured financing and corporate areas of practice. He has represented the real estate ownership, development and finance industries in Colorado and throughout the Rocky Mountain region on legislation, regulatory concerns, and other issues. He also represents corporate and commercial clients on a variety of public policy and government relations issues, initiatives and related litigation. Mulligan also has extensive experience with affordable housing projects and programs, and has been appointed Special Deputy Attorney General representing the Colorado Division of Housing in finance transactions.
