Aderant Releases Expert ClearView General Ledger Cube

Dec. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Aderant, the world’s largest independent legal software company, today announced it has launched a General Ledger (GL) cube as part of its Aderant Expert ClearView business intelligence application for law and professional services firms. The GL cube gives firms the ability to perform detailed financial analysis to drive informed business decisions that propel performance and profitability.

The new GL cube enables business analysts to get critical financial information quickly through built-in calculations such as opening and closing balances, retained earnings, month-to-date, year-to-date, life-to-date, and rolling 12. It fully supports the complex requirements of multinational firms, enabling them to analyze and report information from multiple companies (with the ability to break down accounts by company, office, department and profit center), multiple books (ledgers), and in multiple currencies. Analysts familiar with Microsoft Excel can use the GL cube as an Excel data source to quickly deliver management level GL reports that users can drill through to all levels of the GL structure including GL transactions. Reports can be created quickly and customized as needed to meet the diverse needs of the firm.

Expert ClearView has also been enhanced and is now delivered with five role-based pages—working timekeeper, billing timekeeper, finance inquiries, practice group head, and executive—so that professionals can see in real-time graphical dashboards exactly how they are performing against firm-defined goals, helping them understand where they are operating according to plan and where they need improvement.

Expert ClearView is built on Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and utilizes SSRS-based Web Parts built into the role-based pages. Leveraging SharePoint also provides integration into a proven information delivery and management platform, which accommodates many of the general collaboration, storage, search, and organizational needs of firms. Using SharePoint as the main presentation platform, Expert ClearView provides the ability to manage, organize, and present previously disconnected information into connected experiences within both company-wide and team-focused portals.

This release combines Expert ClearView Practice and Expert ClearView Performance into a single application that gives firms role-based dashboards in a single interface that delivers both real-time operational data and robust analysis and strategic reporting through the Performance, Profitability, and GL cubes. It works with Aderant Expert 7.5 and above.
