Spinning ‘A Web Story’ of Their Own: Learn All About Spiders in JF Clark's New Book
“The story follows the spider, Jake, throughout his 'juvenile' to adult years. It talks about the pressures younger people face: partying, finding your own independence, bullying, and responsibility. There are many fellow spiders in this book, each teaching their own lesson … I think this book should be a must read for all pre-teens! I really enjoyed this book and the writing style of J.F. Clark and I highly recommend it to all adolescents and their parents. I know it certainly would have helped to prepare me for my teenage years.” – Kelli Triplett, Amazon reviewer
Follow Jake and his other spider friends as they try to find their place in the community. Jake, a young basement spider, grew up in a typical spider family. He experiences all the usual things, like hanging out with friends and meeting his first love. He learns about the importance of cooperation when changes come to the community and all the spiders are concerned what will happen to them.
Learn about the relationships in Jake’s family and how the other young spiders have issues dealing with adults. But they do find ways to resolve them. A Web Story and its universal theme of growing up involves spiders, a natural curiosity for us all.
“James Clark's ‘A Web Story’ is an interesting juvenile fiction about the lives of young spiders who are quickly growing up and finding new freedoms as their capabilities and limits expand toward adulthood. But great freedom is often accompanied by great danger … ranging far enough to watch the nearby ‘giants’ at work hunting bugs. – Kevin L. Freeman, Amazon reviewer
