Brenda Dukart appointed to Human Relations Commission

Dec. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Managed Business Solutions (MBS), is pleased to announce that Brenda Dukart, Diversity Business Development Manager at MBS has been appointed  by the Colorado Springs City Council to the Colorado Springs Human Relations Commission for a 2-year term. The mission of the Human Relations Commission is to promote understanding and respect for Colorado Springs residents by facilitating constructive communication through referrals, conflict resolution, education and outreach.

Dukart is proud of her Alaskan Native Tribal heritage of Tsimpshian (Eagle Clan) and Alutiiq. She has worked for tribally owned diverse businesses for more than 10 years. Dukart is a tribal member shareholder of MBS’ parent corporation, Sealaska.  Profits from MBS go back to the indigenous shareholders in the form of scholarships, internships, cultural revitalization and other opportunities.  She said, “It has been a great joy working for a diverse corporation that gives back to society.   In the same spirit, I am looking forward to giving back to our local community by volunteering on the Colorado Springs Human Relations Commission.”

Dukart has a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Alaska Pacific University and a master’s degree in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University.  Being on the commission will allow Dukart the opportunity to use her background in strategic public relations to help build relations with the local and diverse community.
