The Goldfish Garden™ Aquaponic Aquarium On Pre-Sale Now!

Dec. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Effortless Aquaponics LLC, a startup company based out of Oregon is announcing the debut of their inaugural product, the Goldfish Garden™.   The Goldfish Garden™ is a self-cleaning aquaponic fish tank that uses plants to clean the water while fish waste feeds the plants.  Aquaponics is the technology that combines fish and plants in which dirty aquarium water is cleaned by plant roots, benefiting both organisms.  This system grows just about any plant, but works best with herbs like basil, oregano, thyme, or mint; or flowers like pansies, marigolds, or daisies.  The Goldfish Garden™ allows people to grow food or flowers in their home or office with very little hassle; with the added benefit of keeping a fish as a pet.  

The Goldfish Garden™ is patent pending and uses a regular aquarium air pump to pump dirty water from the bottom of the tank into a planter above, filtering out particles that make aquariums dirty.  Further innovations create a complete system that recycles the water and creates a healthy environment for both fish and plants.  

“Watering and fertilization of the plants is not necessary with the Goldfish Garden™” says CEO Ryan Coghlan, “The aquarium water is continually pumped over the roots, providing nutrients and hydration to the plants.  This will be a major benefit for those without a green thumb or the time to constantly clean a fish tank.”  Mr. Coghlan is a scientist with years of experience in the science of aquaponics, and even wrote his Master’s thesis on the subject. After working in a commercial aquaponics facility he saw the benefit of bringing a small version of this technology into the home. After much research on the failings of other home aquaponics systems he finally came up with his final design.
