Act Two Magazine Announces

Launch of its Winter Issue

Response “Overwhelming” to Inaugural Fall Issue

Fairfield, CT – Rosemary Cass, President of Rosy Prose, LLC Publications announces the winter issue of Act Two Magazine will be available on newsstands, and by subscription in mid-December.

“What we found with our first issue is there is a tremendous opportunity and a lot of pent up demand for a magazine targeted to the 50+ demographic in Fairfield County (and beyond actually)” say Cass. “Many said I was ‘nuts’ to start a magazine now, but I’ve found just the opposite. Act Two was launched with an effervescent fanfare and you can’t believe the number of people who are calling to ask when the second issue will be out.”

In this issue we celebrate how people in the second act of life enjoy the winter season.  Many of us don’t retire to warm climates to play golf throughout the winter.  We want to stay close to our kids, family and friends and enjoy the intellectual vibrancy Fairfield County has to offer.

“I’ve learned our demographic is exceedingly active in the winter” says Rosemary Cass, Editor of Act Two.  “Cross Country skiing is incredibly popular with people over 50 (and a great way to exercise and burn calories too!) and we feature cross country skiing in an article in the issue.

While it is hard to admit, Valentine’s Day is not that far off and we have an article on people dating who are over 50.

This issue marks the beginning of a regular feature on second-act careers.  Many who are retired need to supplement their income, others are just plain bored.  Many pursue an unfulfilled passion they could not get to in the first half of their life. Read about second act careers in the winter issue.

We also feature movie reviews (movies targeted to a 50+ audience) as well as a review on one of the best restaurants to go to if you are over 50.

Thousands of copies of the magazine are distributed free throughout Fairfield County, free, with subscriptions available for those who want to make sure they get a copy and have the convenience of home delivery.  It will also be available for sale in bookstores and select locations.

To read these feature stories and more, pick up a copy today or get a subscription.  Cass is running a holiday subscription special.  Buy two one-year subscriptions, send one as a gift, for only $19.95 (normally $39.90) Plus during December, for every subscription purchased, a portion of the subscription price will be donated to Operation Hope of Fairfield, Inc.

Act Two will also be available online ( so advertisers will get thousands of bonus impressions through the online version.

Ms. Cass said, “The 50+ demographic is the fastest growing demographic segment in Fairfield County, and there is no single media outlet targeted to this growing, affluent and influential audience.” “There are over 300,000 50+ adults in Fairfield County controlling the driving share of the buying power in the County and no one is talking to them,” said Cass. “We are not ready for the AARP magazine just yet, but we are ready for the winter issue of Act Two.”
