Foothills Financial Planning is a fee-only advisor and a fiduciary. Unlike most financial advisors, a fiduciary has a legal responsibility to act in the customer’s best interest, and does not receive compensation from anyone except the customer. Advice is provided on an “as needed” basis, and can range from several hours working on a specific issue to a full financial plan or ongoing investment management. Customers of FFP receive independent, objective financial advice from an advisor whose interests are aligned with theirs. This approach eliminates many of the conflicts of interest that exist with commission-based advice. FFP added the Glendale location to address the fact that few options exist in Glendale for fee-only, as-needed financial advice. According to Kevin O’Reilly, principal of FFP, “The Glendale area has a significant population of individuals and families who desire and can benefit from fee-only financial advice. Establishing an office in the area makes it easier for Foothills Financial Planning to serve these needs.” The company offers a free get-acquainted meeting to explore customers’ needs and map out a plan for a solid financial future.
