By: D&D Marketing Concepts Inc. Continuing a proud history of presenting the best in aviation all weekend long, the Rocky Mountain Airshow delivered on its promise to be bigger than ever this year. The Airshow broke all previous attendance records throughout the weekend with attendance of 60,000 this year. Featuring not only the best in astounding aerial performances, the show added Hot Air Balloons and expanded the Adventure Zone/Space Pavilion with aviation focused STEM programs, along with hosting the 33rd annual Rocky Mountain Regional Fly In. The Rocky Mountain Airshow, the premier air show along Colorado’s Front Range, showed off non-stop entertainment in the air and on the ground providing an Aviation Adventure that impacted all the senses and had something for all ages and walks of life! “We were thrilled to bring the most sought after aerobatic performers to Denver this year,” stated Jim Cimiluca, Event Chairman. “Kirby Chambliss, five-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and two time Red Bull Air Race World Champion was incredible. We were very proud to be selected by a very exclusive team as one of only 20 events worldwide to host the USAF F-22 Raptor.” 2013 will bring even more excitement with new additions yet to be announced. The all new Rocky Mountain BalloonFest in conjunction with the Air Show, brought Hot Air Balloons back to Denver with a Friday night glow and morning sunrise launches and featured the first appearance of the Planet Earth Balloon as well as the ever popular Smokey Bear promoting fire prevention and a many more colorful balloons to the skies. Air Show performers appearing throughout this year’s air show included: USAFA Wings of Blue Parachute Demo, Rocky Mountain Renegades, Dan Buchanan, USAFA Glider Demo, Gary Rower, Melissa & Rex Pemberton, Red Stars, Don Nelson/Matt Tanner, Mark Johnson/Roy Halladay, Pyro the Jet Truck, Kent Pietsch, Trojan Phlyers, Kirby Chambliss, F-22 Raptor and the Raptor in Heritage Flight with a P51 Mustang. Colorado Sport Aviation, Inc. is a Colorado based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to serve and promote recreational aviation through the hosting of an annual Air Show and Regional Fly-In. Recreational aviation encompasses: Colorado Sport Aviation Inc. continued their tradition of presenting scholarships and giving back to the community by contributing almost $100,000 in funds this year, 2012. This brings their total scholarship and contribution amount to over $300,000 over the past four years since relocating the airshow to the current location in Broomfield, CO. It was BIG!
