-- The 12th Annual Chicago Scene New Year’s Eve Gala will take place at the historic Drake Hotel, located on the Magnificent Mile in the Gold Coast at Michigan Avenue and Oak Street. The party begins at 9 p.m. on Monday, December 31 and 8 p.m. for VIP ticket holders (check-in begins at 7:30 p.m.) and goes until 2 a.m.
Chicago Scene in conjunction with Akira Chicago hosts the celebration for a sold out crowd of over 2000 people every year. General Admission, which begins at $135 for early bird tickets and elevates to $195 as the non-refundable tickets (http://chicagoscene2013.eventbrite.com/)
reach sell-out status. The tickets include 6 drink tickets and entertainment in 3 ballrooms.
DJs Rock City, Jernell Geronimo, and Dance Floor Junkies & Miro on drums who will spin house, hip-hop and Top 40 all night long. There are 45 fully staffed bars to keep the lines under control and food includes complimentary gourmet hors d'oeurvres
and dinner buffet, dessert and coffee buffets. Also included are party favors (hats, noise makers, etc.) and a midnight champagne toast and balloon drop.
Check-in includes free coat check and a cash bar until the event begins. VIP tickets run from $175 to $250 and include access to the Akira VIP room and other roped off VIP areas as well as additional butler food service and 7 drink tickets.
The Drake will be offering room packages, and vacancies fill very quickly. There will also be valet parking (at additional cost, rates available via the event website (http://chicago-scene.com/new-years-eve-chicago.htm
)) and many taxis as well as bus service will be available at the end of the night.
As this is an upscale event the evening’s dress code will be Cocktail – i.e. suits or sport coat and slacks for men. No t-shirts, jeans, hats, or gym shoes allowed. All party attendees must be 21 or over to enter and a valid ID is required at the door with your tickets.
