Meet the Authors

Over a 20-year span, James Witham served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of five companies he founded and took public through firm-commitment underwritten IPOs. The growth of these companies was accomplished largely through acquisitions, landing one company in the top 100 of Inc. magazine’s list of Fastest Growing Small Public Companies. He is a recipient of the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and served on the Executive Committee of the All American Collegiate Golf Foundation.

Co-author Karen Laustsen has served in executive positions and on the boards of directors of five publicly traded companies.  She has extensive experience in conducting due diligence on acquisition targets across a broad spectrum of industry sectors and sizes of companies.
